About this deal

The busy dial and dark colour scheme offer some similarities, whilst the sharp yellow second hand helps this model to stand out. This Seiko has somewhat of a cult following of its own, with a reputation for being one of the best affordable aviator watches. This one could be a great option if you prefer a watch dial with numbers at each hour, rather than just regular markers. The large characters certainly make this watch easy to read amongst the complex design. Nevertheless, without buying an illegal replica, this gives you more or less the exact look, just with the Corgeut logo.

The ‘Edifice’ line by Casio offers some of the most extreme value for money wristwatches on the market. I recently reviewed another in this range and was blown away by the level of quality and finishing for such an aggressively priced piece. And, you’ll look very impressive when using it. Now, the slide rule bezel might be a bit complicated at first, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll be able to perform calculations fast.

Couple things that may turn off some people. The chronograph buttons. They have a screw feature where you have to unscrew the rings around the chrono buttons if you need to use the chronograph or set and use the alarm. A bit of an inconvenience but I got over it. I've been wearing this watch for almost 2 weeks straight and I'm not complaining. At first look, the dial of the Seiko Flightmaster SNA411P1 feels very busy and cluttered. And yes, it is definitely a busy dial, but at the same time, everything serves a purpose. From the printing around the bezel to the chronograph counters and the printing on the dial. A slide rule is an important tool for aviation because it allows for rapid calculations “off the cuff”. Fuel efficiency, unit conversions, and more are important to know when trying to determine, say, how far you can go with what you’ve got in the tank, especially when a mile up in the sky. Oh, and miles to kilometers? The slide rule does that easily. Pilot’s watches for the people If you are looking for a watch that can do more than just tell the time, then the Seiko Flightmaster SNA411 is the watch for you. It is the perfect watch for pilots and engineers, it can also be worn by those who want a watch that is loaded with features and a watch that looks great in whatever style you wear, may it be sporty or classy. It is a budget-friendly watch that will not require you to spend more than you plan to.

This means you can just wear this watch when swimming or scuba diving without the need to change to your diver watch. How cool is that? But of course for very deep dives I would recommend an ISO 6425 certified diver watch for your own safety =p The yellow markings ties with the bright yellow chronograph of the watch, giving it a sporty yet elegant touch that supports its water-resistance of about 200M. Its internal bezel is a bit sloped, so it enhances the overall readability and it lends a bit more interest in its vision. This ‘Chronospeed’ features another useful feature in the form of a screw-down crown. As such, the water seal should be better than other options on this list and give you some peace of mind if you plan on submerging this watch. We all know and adore the Omega Speedmaster — the first watch on the Moon, official watch for NASA astronauts. The Breitling Navitimer has its own prestigious history and diehard fans as well. It is the embodiment of the quirky yet beloved slide rule bezel. These two watches are pinnacles of aviation horology. However, they aren’t the best. Oh no, if anything, they are only thematic stepping stones to the true king of flight watches: the Seiko Flightmaster. It is the best of Speedmaster and Navitimer, with a few quirks and special features of its own. Within is just a cheap Japanese quartz movement, which is nothing fancy, but does provide accurate time. There is also a butterfly style deployant on the strap, to keep it in good condition for longer.

It is also water resistant and it can outstand around 200M of water, this wristwatch can even be useful during scuba diving and it looks amazing on any style. It can be used for casual events or business meetings.

It has both raised and recessed details, matte, polished, and brushed. The watch is equipped with Seiko’s proprietary Hardlex crystal which is slightly domed. It is not a sapphire crystal, which you wouldn’t expect for a watch in this price range, however, it has proven to be extremely durable and scratch-resistant. The Hardlex crystal is made in a way so that it doesn’t shatter as sapphire crystals do. This is especially important in a pilot’s watch, as the risk of shattering the crystal while flying can be a deadly safety hazard.

Flightmaster fits all wrists

The top pusher will be used to start the time. Then at the moment when you want to record the time, push the bottom pusher. While the dial arrangement is very similar to different Navitimer models, the fonts used are different and this model comes in some alternative colourways that set it apart from some of the ‘clones’ featured in this article.

Seiko watches are known for their great build quality, and the Seiko SNA411 is of course no exception. This watch is sturdy. As it was built for the use of pilots, who are exposed to an incredible amount of G-Force and pushed around in a jet, it needed to be durable.Being a chronograph also made the dial busier. The 3 subdials definitely take lots of space at the center of the dial until there is no free space at all. It is powered by the caliber 7T62 which is a quartz and battery-powered movement. With all of these functions, a quartz movement was a clever move from Seiko. Now, there will naturally be people who would prefer a mechanical movement, but for this exact watch, we are unsure if it would have been a better move. If the movement would have been mechanical, it would have been less accurate, more expensive, and more complicated to maintain. The Seiko Flightmaster SNA411 has impressive accuracy, as you would expect. The markers are very small – just some small dots on the dial which are also applied with lume. Unless you are new to analog watch, this will not be a problem. Breitling Navitimer Cosmonaute. A very gorgeous aviation watch indeed and has a rotary slide rule and chronograph. But it loses to the Seiko FlightMaster SNA411 in terms of usefulness as it does not has the compass ring and some unit conversion (weight and volume) This Stuhrling features a primarily polished finish, reminiscent of the original Navitimer, along with a near-identical set of sub-dials and indices. You also get a grippy crown and arrangement that appear to be screw-down; though the limited 5ATM of water resistance suggests otherwise.
