About this deal

Once I figured out all of the Eastwood’s little setup quirks it was time to start playing records. I grabbed some of my all-time favorite albums; Matthew Sweet’s power-pop magnum opus Girlfriend, the Beastie Boys’ hip-hop masterpiece Paul’s Boutique, and Weezer’s groundbreaking debut Blue Album.

The Bluetooth turntable, knobs, buttons, and faceplate are all plastic but look surprisingly like textured aluminum. The faux metal faceplate has five buttons, two knobs, and a 1/8″ headphone port for wired listening. It has the hallmark old-school belt-drive operation of a ProJect model. The belt is accessible from the top of the plinth to change the speed between 33rpm and 45rpm records. As the Eastwood is most likely to be used in Phono mode, we tested this first. To play your record, lift the clear plastic dust cover and place it on the turntable. The compact design means that the record won't actually fit perfectly, and you won't be able to close the dust cover again without removing it. Still, the visual effect is nice.Just power them up, place your record on the platter, and lower the stylus into the groove. Features Le + : BlueTooth in pour diffuser la musique du smartphone, et BT out pour diffuser le son sur enceintes BT

The Victrola Eastwood 3-Speed Bluetooth Turntable makes the answers to these questions seem obvious, and for a very affordable price, too. An all-in-one solution that almost everyone can work out how to use, it also makes two-way Bluetooth connectivity part of its feature set.To put it bluntly, when I play records on my record player I can only get the volume to go so loud. Now, don’t get me wrong, the audio is very loud when I listen to records. Do you ever prefer listening to your favorite songs or audiobooks without sharing them with the entire world? How about listening to your favorite audio without interrupting the other people at home? To play a record, set an album down carefully on the turntable and turn the unit on. Turn the BT/PHONO knob to PHONO and PH will show on the display. Press play and then gently lower the tonearm down onto the album. Adjust the volume once the album starts playing. If you plug in headphones, the internal speakers should stop playing, this didn’t always work for me though. Finally, I tried something more complex musically, but not necessarily in choice of instrumentation, playing Faraquet's " Parakeet." The clean guitar sounded great, and the bass came through loud and clear. There is still a quality here---some might say "vintage" while others would say "lo-fi"---but it worked for the sound. Victrola recognizes this fact and took steps to do something about it. Instead of leaving a wide-open turntable susceptible to amassing unwanted dirt and dust and grime, they added a crystal-clear yet removable dust cover to keep any and all records protected as they sit upon the turntable. Since there aren't a whole bunch of turntables out there with built-in battery life, it’s hard to say whether the battery life is good or not. After all, there are a lot more moving parts with a turntable than with a portable Bluetooth speaker, where you can expect up to 18 hours of battery life depending on the model. Of course, there are some that will give you just 12 hours like the Revolution Go is advertised as having. There’s one large knob to control power, volume and connectivity modes situated near the front of the turntable. Holding it down for two seconds will turn the turntable on and off. Turning it will control the volume. And, pressing it will let you cycle through three connectivity modes: Vinyl, Vinyl Stream, and Bluetooth mode. Pairing is incredibly simple with the latter two modes. Speaking of, Vinyl Stream is a somewhat unique concept where you can use the functionality of the turntable while using an external speaker system via Bluetooth. It’s a nice, if somewhat niche, feature that makes sense if you have access to a larger Bluetooth-enabled sound system and want to connect a turntable. If you want to stream a Bluetooth device to the Eastwood’s speakers, that process is pretty straightforward. Simply turn on the unit, switch the BT/PHONO knob to BT and BT will show on the display screen. Set your device to pairing mode, select Victrola Eastwood in your device’s pairing menu, and start streaming. This worked every time for me, but it’s the one function I’ll probably never use on the Eastwood. The Revolution Go is a belt-driven turntable, ideal for anyone not planning on using one for a DJ gig, and uses an easily replaceable Audio Technica AT-3600LA stylus. While you could easily upgrade the stylus to something more expensive, the included AT-3600LA is more than good enough. When I connect my phone to the turntable via Bluetooth, and I play my favorite MP3s, the audio seems to come out of the turntable speaker so much louder than it does when I play records. It’s a semi-automatic, belt-driven model that - unusually for a higher-end model - supports three record speeds, including the rarer 78rpm.

When I first took the Re-Spin out of the box and removed the dust cover, I couldn't help but notice the tonearm and a few accessories were taped down. Considering this is supposed to be portable, I was curious how well everything would stay in place when the player was on the move. Using the built-in Audio Technica speaker, I noticed a strange anomaly that I haven’t seen anyone else mention so far, so maybe it’s something that no one else has experienced as of yet.

The Victrola Eastwood is an eye-catchingly unique take on the record player, blending traditional features with modern convenience.
