Love this book so so much but I cant give it 5 stars because of the non consensual scenes. I get it’s supposed to be dark romance but that was too far

Doluza is defeated and Tyrrell stands at a distance when Vinera tends to a fallen Dario. She wants to go with him but Dario cannot grant her wish as he knows she is carrying his child and cannot involve himself in the killing an innocent child. He hopes she can let the child live as he or she wishes, as he believes nothing is more precious than freedom. He asks Vinera to apologize to Machérie on his behalf and passes away in Vinera's arms. Tyrrell warns her someone's coming, with Vinera asking Dario to watch over her and their child as she runs to follow Tyrrell. It was not the case that they had mutually sought each other out, and although it was a relationship heavy with obligation and responsibility, he wrapped her in his arms and greeted her as a husband greets a wife, and her heart went on to open up further every time she encountered that kindness thereafter. The choices he gave me when he stole me away from my home with an army of men were very clear—marry me or die. I will add that Deceptive Vows seems more at home with the Dark Syndicate series than the Blood and Thorns series, as B&T is currently labelled a duet. It really is a good story with a good plot. Lots of intrigue and secrets. It leaves you guessing who is behind the assassination attempt and while you might have a good suspicion, you will only be partially right. The development of the romance follows a more natural, believable path after chapter 4. The characters are strong, wanting to survive no matter what, but they do have their issues and worries to deal with which the eventually work out. They are multidimensional and grow on this journey. Push and pull H being conflicted between his attraction to h and who she is, his goals and the fact that he has to worry about his life being in danger. h pushes at first because she thinks the H is a monster, and also, she is anxious about her identity being revealed so she lies that she has no interest in him. She is conflicted between acting like how Adriana should and how she wants to fall for him, because deep down they are similar peopleThe story as a whole (although I didn't finish it) wasn't awful, it just wasn't all that pleasant either. Every single character was insanely immature and honestly had some of the longest internal monologues I've ever seen- and I couldn't deal with it anymore. No OW/OM h is more worried than anything that H sleeps with other women when in fact, he is just doing bloody business lol H is all about h. h also gets jealous because one of the maids talk in russian to H, and she doesn't understand what they are saying and feels left out. H has no interest in the maid. The way I genuinely couldn't keep going any longer- I truly tried to stay strong💀🙏- this was painful to listen to. Upon being surrounded by the Fennes shinobi, Dario unleashes his limit burst to wipe out an entire platoon before breaking into a coughing fit. Dario tells Tyrrell he does not have much time left, with Doluza pontificating on what's to become of Vinera following Dario's passing. Vinera would rather die than live in a world without Dario, with Dario being heavily against it. Vinera is a cunning and dutiful. Having been trained in the Serpent's Den made her self-aware as an assassin and feigned daughter of Muraga. She uses her training to assume demeanor befitting of royalty and desires to assassinate Dario for Muraga. Vinera falls in love with the object of her assassination and becomes more accommodating to Dario following their matrimony. She is embarrassed over the extent of her feelings and she cares deeply about what Dario thinks of her. She is willing to place her life on the line for him, or even take her own life were he to pass.
