About this deal

And that does it for all the ingredients of interest. Like I said earlier, just a very basic formula that has eliminated everything potentially problematic to ensure it is tolerated by even the most sensitive skin types. Cons of the Avene Skin Recovery Cream. This an ester that’s used to emulsify, that is, bind water and oil in the formula. It’s a very common emulsifier found in many products, and is generally well-tolerated. However, if you’re prone to adult acne or have sensitivities to yeast malassezia, it might cause your skin to act up. Finally I read an article stating Avene tolerance control was rated the best cream to use with tretinoin. So I rush to my local chemist and I'm so glad I did!!! Rapidly soothes irritations, nourishes and moisturises, helping restore the skin’s barrier to reduce skin’s reactivity to external environmental factors. The very gentle formula contains the minimum number of ingredients for better tolerance. Secondly, the Avene Skin Recovery Cream contains preservatives. This isn’t a bad thing! In fact, cosmetics SHOULD have preservatives to ensure user safety and prevent bacterial overgrowth. However, there is documentation showing they may cause irritation to hyper-sensitive skin.

Before I summarize the research on this ingredient, just remember that a lot of these studies were funded by Avene or similar skincare companies that use thermal spring water in their formulas. Whether you think that creates a conflict of interest is up to you. The face cream featured here is targeted at people with sensitive complexions and is applied to the face and décolletage. This product is designed to produce a balancing, a soothing and lipid-restoring effect and is engineered to treat rosacea, irritation, and dryness. Ingredients Another super common myth surrounding mineral oil is that it is comedogenic. A 2005 study titled"Is mineral oil comedogenic?" examined this very question and guess what happened? The study concluded that" based on the animal and human data reported, along with the AAD recommendation, it would appear reasonable to conclude that mineral oil is noncomedogenic in humans."

Pharmacy product

For this reason, I recommend the Avene Extreme Tolerance Emulsion over the Avene Skin Recovery Cream. I think the product is just as good, but even more suitable for all skin types. Application, Feel, and Scent. Minimum number of ingredients selected for their gentleness – 98% of ingredients from natural origin For this reason, I think the Avene Extreme Tolerance Emulsion is better suited for all skin types, and what people with extremely sensitive skin are actually looking for! You will know if you’re sensitive to malassezia if you suffer from any of the following skin conditions: atopic dermatitis (eczema), dandruff, psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, tinea versicolor (pityriasis versicolor), or malassezia folliculitis (fungal acne). I would recommend this product to anyone using tretinoin/retinol or with a broken skin barrier and needing skin repair! Due to my skin been very dry I find myself apply this cream about 3 times during the day to keep my skin moist. #AvèneReview

Hopefully you found this review helpful! And I’m sorry if I made you less excited about trying this product. :/ Recently I started using tretinoin and began the tretinoin purge, which causes your skin to become hypersensitive, skin peeling, redness and acne. I have alot of different creams and everyone of them was irritating my skin, clogging my pores more and giving me burning sensation. As you can see it still has all the beneficial components of the Avene Skin Recovery Cream (i.e. squalane, glycerin, thermal spring water), but excludes what makes the Recovery Cream less than idea for hyper-sensitive skin (i.e. preservatives and glyceryl stearate). Iv been using this cream for a week along side my tretinoin and my skin has remain calm, there's no irritation, no redness and most importantly it doesn't clog my pores!

And last but not least, one study found that thermal spring water can reduce the irritation caused by tretinoin when treating acne. ( 5)
