About this deal

ADAM Audio was founded in Berlin in 1999 with a mission to redefine audio reproduction standards. The company’s innovative X-ART (eXtended Accelerating Ribbon Technology) tweeter, based on the 1960’s Air Motion Transformer invention by Oskar Heil, laid the foundation for their success. ADAM Audio has since become a global leader in professional audio equipment, known for their precision German engineering and commitment to excellence.

So all in all, great monitors sound wise. But with some ridiculous design decisions for sure. Their previous 'budget' series (F series) had both front ported bass ports and an essential on/off light on the front so it's really stupid they decided to drop these features. I would have The most unique part of Focal studio monitors, and usually the selling point, is the inverted-dome tweeter—this component offers multiple benefits. The inverted dome creates a wide listening sweet spot, unlike most other dome-based tweeters. You should be able to move around your listening position without losing much of the detail and defined stereo image that the Alpha 65s provide. We combined Spinorama data with room acoustics and came up with Soundton. A very simple, 2D online tool that allows you to:Playing David Bowie’s Ashes To Ashes, which I’d also tried on the smaller ADAMs, I noticed greater depth of sound-stage, the T7Vs having an almost holographic quality. This cavernous character is something of a double-edged sword, being quite inviting and seductive, yet also robbing the monitor of immediacy and some midrange punch. A few months ago I reviewed ADAM Audio’s T5Vs, the smaller of the company’s entry-level monitors. They impressed me – and everyone else who heard them – greatly, performing astonishingly well and offering unbelievably good value for money. ADAM has been at the forefront of active studio monitor design for many years, with its larger – and vastly more expensive – monitors employed by many state-of-the-art facilities, including the world-famous Abbey Road Studios.

The colormap provides you the locations with the best (green) and worst (red) listening experience. ADAM’s new T Series makes the company’s signature technology and sound available at a much lower price than ever before. The T7V has both balanced and unbalanced inputs, as well as controls for adjusting the overall level and the high‑ and low‑frequency response. With a specified SPL rating of up to 110dB per pair at one metre, the available level is more than adequate for the intended nearfield deployment — though there’s no clip LED to warn you if you push things too hard. Furthermore, the power LED is on the rear panel; there’s no power indication visible from the front. In Practice

Switching between the T7Vs and our regular ATC monitoring systems (SCM100A mains and SCM25A mid-fields), showed the ADAMs to be basically tonally accurate, with only the faintest hint of bass bloom. Many users will prefer this presentation as it more faithfully mimics the sonic character of much domestic audio equipment; these users would likely find the smaller T5Vs a little lean. The ADAM Sub8 subwoofer is the perfect match to complement the T7V, to extend the capabilities of monitoring in the bottom end. Specifications ADAM's U-ART is a 19-inch pleated polyamide film. Accelerated Ribbon Tweeters can move air 4x faster than most tweeters, making it a super-efficient machine that results in detailed audio delivery.
