Over the top of these controls are the channel and bank selection buttons; the amp can store four channel patches in each of two banks for a total of eight presets. There’s also a handy button called Panel, which puts the Katana into manual ‘what you see is what you get’ mode. Choose from a huge selection of customizable effects and effect routing configurations with the BOSS Tone Studio editor softwareSwitches: Power Control (Standby, 0.5 W, 50 W, 100 W), Cab Resonance (Vintage/Modern/Deep), Variation, Booster, Mod, Fx, Delay, Reverb, Tap, Ch1, Ch2, Ch3, Ch4, Panel, Stereo Expand For customers in outlying areas of the country, the price of the Extended Warranty may be marginally higher, due to the potential for higher collection and redelivery transport costs. While the Katana head features a 100 watt class A/B power section, which functions in just the same way as a traditional valve amp, we all know that not every gig demands that level of brute force. A simple spin of the power control lets you cut this down to 50 watts, or even 0.5 watts, without losing any of your tone. With the Stereo Expand feature you can even hook up to another compatible Katana amp and enjoy stereo effects, all controlled from a single optional footswitch. The 8-ohm minimum speaker output lets you match your Katana head to your favourite cab, while the built in monitoring speaker means you can leave the 4x12 in the van or at the rehearsal room, and still practice and edit your sounds with just the head. The Katana Series However, the Gear4music extended warranty scheme provides an enhanced service, and is designed to offer a higher level of protection than many 'free' warranties offered by some retailers and manufacturers.

The free Katana MkII Version 2 software update delivers a host of new features that further enhance the capabilities of your BossKatana MkII guitar amplifier.Version 2 elevates the expressive power of your amp with newly added tone-shaping tools available in the BossTone Studio app. AWG copper core wire, 3 ft./1 m length. Also available in 5 ft./1.5 m (BSC-5) and 15 ft./4.5 m (BSC-15) lengths. View Product The Katana HEAD MKII can store 8 of your favourite patches directly to the amp, with 15 effects per patch. There is a rear-panel connection, allowing you to control the amp channels with a footswitch or manipulate effects with an expression pedal. The Katana Head is compatible with the GA-FC (sold separately), which is a dedicated amp controller pedal, designed to control all the various aspects of the Katana. The GA-FC (sold separately) features 6 buttons and 2 expression inputs that are compatible with all Boss Expression Pedals. Each button on the GA-FC (sold separately) can be assigned via Boss Tone Studio.

The Katana Version 4 update brings original Katana owners some great new features derived from the next-generation Katana MkII series. Heavy Octave, Stereo Delay, and Pan Delay effects have been added, along with a dedicated Pedal FX section that makes it easier to set up foot-controlled wah and pedal bend. In addition, a first-generation 100-watt Katana model can now be used as a slave amp with the Katana MkII’s powerful Stereo Expand feature, allowing you to create wide, expansive tones with stereo-compatible effects distributed across both amps. You can reduce the total power of the KTN-HEADMKII to either 0.5 of a watt, 50w or 100w meaning you can still experience the tone, and more importantly, the “feel” of a dimed amp at a reasonable volume. 0.5w is perfect for when you are playing at low/bedroom volume and still require the tone of a pushed guitar amp. 50w is ideal for rehearsals, jamming with other musicians and enable you to compete with a drummer, whereas 100w is perfect for use in live/recording situations where volume isn’t a concern. Boss are most renowned for their guitar pedals, and the company has crammed a bunch of its high-quality effects into its Katana amplifiers. Taking it to the next level with the MkII series, you can now use five different effects simultaneously rather than just three -giving you the power of a massive pedalboard inside your amp! With its built-in BOSS effects, the Katana-Head lets you perform anywhere with just a guitar and amp. Connecting to BOSS Tone Studio via USB provides access to 65 fully customizable effects, and you can load your favorites into the amp’s various effects sections. Going beyond standard distortion, delay, and reverb, the selection includes effects types like pitch shifting, ring mod, slicer, and many more. Channel and global parametric EQs are available as well for powerful overall tone shaping. Version 3 Effects and Control Features ADDITIONAL FEATURES: Switchable output power selection, speaker-emulated headphones/recording and line outputs, aux in, series/parallel effects loop, USB, MIDI In, power amp in, stereo expand select, ‘Air Feel’ select, 3 speaker outs (1x8 ohm, 2x 16 ohm) You should get an instant answer on whether your application has been successful, though in some rare cases Klarna or V12 may need to look at the application in more detail. External control support via GA-FC/GA-FC EX foot controller, footswitches, expression pedal, and MIDI

The next step is Lead. Soaring melodies and scorching distorted tones for solos of any genre - and we mean any genre. For the gain-lovers; Brown. From chugging to shredding, the Brown setting is born for all things metal. And finally, an Acoustic mode for that soothing, resonant voice that'll make your electro-acoustic sparkle with character. Truthfully, there really isn't anything the MKII can't do. Five amp characters with five variations, plus Booster, Mod, FX, Delay, and Reverb sections with three variations in each. It sounds very good for home practice, band rehearsal, and even a live gig. The flexibility with the speaker out is just insane. In my opinion, its sound is not very convincingly "natural" but it can definitely get close when paired with a good guitar cab and thrown into a band mix. And yes, it can cut its path in a band mix. Digital modelling has evolved to give guitarists practically any sound they can think of, although not every amp is equal when it comes to performance and some are a lot easier and more fun to work with than others.
