While the book does have a few serious moments, primarily Jenson plays it for laughs and gets a wee bit tongue in cheeky. It is the absorbing story of a life dedicated to building a racing career and a fascinating insight into what that career entailed. Much of the early press coverage around this book concerned Jenson’s first admissions of anxiety attacks.He takes you inside what it’s really like to be an F1 driver – not just the bits you see on screen, but all the rest that you’ve always wanted to know about – the parties, the lifestyle, the fashion faux pas – it’s all there. His 17 years in Formula 1 have seen him experience everything the sport has to offer, from nursing underpowered cars around the track to winning World Championships and everything in between.
