Having not tested the product yet I cannot comment on quality however service I can comment on and it’s absolute rubbish. Complete with bungee storage and comfortable straps you can easily carry your SUP anywhere you desire. Ideal for travellers and adventurers due to its lightweight and compact design, it employs a 5” drop stitch core and light accessories for effortless carriage. We also appreciate that Bluefin opted to throw in an extra fin box lever, though as long as you make sure to take out the center when going into shallow water and rivers your fin boxes should last as long as the board itself.
I’m used to the screw in Powerbox, US or FCS fin systems that feel super secure and I have 100% confidence my fin isn’t going to fall out during the session. And when the time comes to set it up it’s simply a case of clipping it onto the D-rings that run along the sides of the SUP. This leash offers unrivalled durability, ensuring it can withstand the most demanding water conditions.Plus, there’s a handle at the top so you can manoeuvre the bag around once you’ve found your perfect paddling spot.
It also facilitates the rider to move around on the board without any bowing or flexing that could destabilize them. Blowing up the board itself was easy, too, and I think it’s really useful that around the valve, Bluefin has written what PSI you should pump the board up too, so you’re not left questioning whether you’ve done it enough. The 12’ is the same width as the 10’8, so although the board can carry more weight, it feels very similar in terms of side-to-side wobbliness. Within the repair kit are two items, consisting of a Halkey-Roberts inflation valve wrench which you can use to tighten up the valve if it should ever come loose. Other standout features include patent-pending reflective D-ring mounts to improve visibility on the water, the fixed camera mount at the front of the board and the extra-long bungee cords to keep your belongings securely in place while cruising.In my last review, I commented on 2 things I disliked about the Bluefin, the way it looks and the fin mechanism. Being able to put a huge amount of PSI into the board helps with glide, this extra rigidity allows the board to cut through the water and doesn’t flop and wobble around at all. In my opinion this board is well made construction, durable materials, stable, easy to maneuver, and versatile (SUP or kayaking). The deck pad is built with both comfort and traction in mind, with the accessories complimenting the board well by providing plenty of attachment points without cluttering the board. Whether you're a new or experienced SUPer, this board is easy to use and made from high-grade materials.
It also feels like a quick board, yes that really depends on how fast you paddle, but it doesn’t feel bulky or heavy through the paddle motion. However, we do suggest looking into the Cruise 12’ if you believe this will be a regular thing as the Cruise 12’ does offer more stability and surface area to work with. Overall, we think the 10’8’’ Cruise is maneuverable enough that you’ll be able to explore every nook and cranny of the lakes and bays that you go to, leaving no stone unturned as you enjoy nature with the Bluefin 10’8’’ Cruise. We've been able to do this by using a single-layer woven drop stitch and lighter handles, bungee cords, and camera mounts.
Plus, everything you could possibly need comes packaged in a waterproof, roll-down backpack, so it’s ideal for taking on your outdoor adventures, near or far. When everything is lumped together into the backpack It is still rather wieldy, even with the pump inside. Raised kick pad:Learning how to perform a step-back turn can be tricky, but Bluefin at least makes it more comfortable with the raised kick pad.
