About this deal

Justina es una chica lista y amante de las novelas de misterio que me ha caído muy bien y sobre la que estoy deseando seguir leyendo. I would perhaps have appreciated a greater sense of the period detail throughout the story but this is certainly a series that I will be following with interest and I have high hopes for our no-nonsense heroine, Justice Jones.

The sale of customised goods or perishable goods, sealed audio or video recordings, or software, which has been opened. Helena was there in a dark tunnel in the night because she was meeting the French teacher, who she was in love with. The Ghost in the Garden is perhaps the most atmospheric book in the series, with Elly Griffiths expertly building tension and suspense as the girls uncover the truth about the ghostly presence in the gardens. And, I’m especially taken with the time setting of the late 30s and early 40s, as solving a case is all down to leg work, careful observation, and note taking. Justice er altid blevet undervist hjemme af moderen, men nu skal hun for første gang i sit liv gå i en rigtig fysisk skole. While Justice is learning to adjust to this new atmosphere of groups and rules and making friends, investigating a suspicious death is an anchor that Justice can grab hold of that keeps her on the familiar ground of her mother's Leslie Light mystery series and her father's murder cases. Justice isn’t impressed by her first sight of Highbury House, standing out huge and stark, like Dracula’s castle, on the remote, inhospitable Romney Marshes of Kent. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.

A passed note or found letter is far more thrilling than a text message, any day or creepy night of the week. I savoured every page of this book - it was definitely a cosy mystery book AND it was also taking place in a boarding school AND it was in the 1930s AND the characters were really well-written. When Justice’s father disappears after the half-holiday at Highbury, anybody and everybody is suspect. The plot is well constructed, the clues not too easy and there is a satisfyingly gathering momentum to the book which makes it a real page-turner. The rules were strict, the corridors freezing, the food disgusting, but when Justice made a new friend in Stella, she was happier. In Justice, Elly Griffiths gives the reader a wonderfully quirky character: one whose inspiration is the protagonist of her mother’s novels, who recites her father’s cases when bored or needing to stay awake, who is clever and insightful and a little daring.
