As I mentioned before, there is also threading for a 1/4-inch adapter for use with older or higher-power systems with the larger connection. It creates a pristine image of the music that makes a for a really good introduction to the nuanced kind of experience that Hi-Fi headphones can offer. The DT 770 Pro 32 Ohm comes with leatherette earpads, as well an adjustable padded headband for maximum comfort making them ideal for long sessions. Each phone is supported in an anodised aluminium yoke; these are in turn supported by a well-padded, adjustable headband. However, the RØDE have a detachable audio cable, and the '100M' model come with a detachable mic if you want to use them for gaming. Given that this headset is so old, it’s a little behind the times where it comes to features that content creators and casual listeners have come to expect from their headphones. They're also decently well-built and comfortable enough for most, although they can be tight on the head for some.

The one quality I find lacking in their spatial presentation is that the instrument separation they provide isn't the most impressive, it's one aspect where it's noticeably behind headphones like the HD600 or Sundara, and I do think that it slightly detracts from its sense of clarity. The mids are linear throughout, they feel very natural-sounding, they have a natural timbre to them. For closure, I run these headphones through Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 3rd Gen audio interface and you achieve the "medium-to-high" volume at 60% of the knob-turn. Closed ear design, incorporating the Beyerdynamic bass reflex system, combines articulate low end response with a lightweight diaphragm. This model is likely to be somewhat limited in terms of volume when combined with smartphones (the 32-ohm variant provides a better alternative here). However, the performance of the DT770 Pro--in my opinion--far outshines that of those other headphones I've mentioned, and is closer to headphones like the HD600, or the HiFiMan Sundara. On the other hand, the Philips are open-back headphones with a much better passive soundstage performance.

The only thing I really noticed was that after EQ'ing, there's a bit of a dip at around 4KHz making the presence region a tiny bit lacking in presence, but this was very subtle. Please give us the reason for your assessment in the following text box and – if possible – your e-mail address for further questions.

They have the same solid metal frame as Beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO, and the ear cups are dense enough to handle drops without getting damaged. However, if you’re looking for commuting headphones: you’ll probably be better served by wireless or noise-canceling headphones. The Sennheiser are open-back, so they deliver less bass but have an otherwise very balanced, clear sound and open soundstage. I've gone through Beats headphones, Razer Crapkens - THOSE are bass-heavy and not the best sound, at all.

Sure, those too are long in the tooth and yes: they’ve got a lot of the same drawbacks as the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80Ω, but they’re time-tested and industry standard for the same reasons the Beyerdynamic cans have stuck around so long. Impulse Response technology creates accurate and articulate high-end that reproduces even the highest register frequencies with no distortion or distracting 'splashing' effects that are so common with other mixing headphones. Recording on quality headphones like these means that you can hear every part of the song, ensuring you'll nail your part every single time. Additionally, like all other Beyerdyamic headphones I've tried, the DT770 Pro has pin-point accurate imaging that is excellent at delineating the positioning of sound.Mids can take a bit of a backseat to the highs (very obvious in instrument-heavy Meat Loaf songs), but a properly-mixed track will present vocals and most instrument sounds quite nicely. It has many of the features one would look for in a monitor headphone – closed-back, over-ear design with Beyerdynamic reputation behind it. For producers and engineers, the DT770s can even be the difference when it comes to achieving a good mix. On the other hand, the Beyerdynamic have better build quality, a much more stable fit, and a more neutral bass response. The impressive acoustic definition captures musical details that conventional headphones just don’t pick up.
