The book starts out with an in-depth treatment of old tribes (Norse, Tong, Kurgan, Hung) which didn't do too much for me personally. We have obtained permission to release the album The Horus Heresy - Visions of Heresy, but for obvious reasons it will have to wait.

Yet with all things involving Chaos, madness and half-truths dominate the pages, and you can never be wholly certain just what information can be relied upon.One could think that the Chaos and the Chaos Gods of Warhammer would present the perfect setting to get stories of anti-hero in abundance. The goal of the book is to develop and to dig the symbolic and the meaning associated to each Chaos Gods. For the first time in recorded history, all the secrets of the Realm are laid bare in a mammoth, 416-page softback book that collects all the previously published volumes plus a section on Chaos Undivided. It also cover their minions and followers, but they are used as a mean to explain and to push further the psychology and implications associated to the the four Chaos Gods motto (Blood, Pleasure, Decay and Change).

A truly epic tome, bringing together the four previously published volumes and including a previously un-published section pertaining to Chaos undivided, this is essential reading for any fan of the Warhammer world or the 40k universe. This is then further exemplified by the listings of individuals and champions who assist each god's cause, showing how anyone can easily fall prey to their wills. This is the best book about the Chaos Gods and the second best book about Chaos in general after «Tome of Corruption» (WFRP). Legends have warned of this day, the prophets shriek and gibber and tear at themselves, overwhelmed by the blasphemy taking form.

That's very unlikely to be relevant since it would in no way prevent further English editions, which as the link explicitly says (this is a publisher and I don't see an obvious reason to disbelieve them) is probably the case. While it outlines a great deal of lore from many viewpoints, and covers familiar territory, it nevertheless avoids pinning down Chaos to a few distinct elements.

Atop of this, even when you are skimming through, the various displays of papers layered upon one another gives it a great visual distinction.
