When you wind the bobbin you just wind the thread around the bobbin a few times (clock-wise) and the excess is cut off at the bottom of the holder. It also has a quick set bobbin for stress free sewing and you have a choice of 27 stitches including stretch stitches, satin stitches and an overlock stitch. Its position can be adjusted exactly on the edge of the zipper/piping, avoiding the non-flat parts of them. Let me tell you I was beginning to think I’d made a mistake in purchasing one, however I opened the box when I got home, quickly set it up and it works like a dream and so quiet in comparison.
