I bought my current Lagerfeld Classic quite recently - about six years ago - so I'll just have the current formulation in my mind.

As an other reviewer already stated, this indeed smells best from a little distance, instead of directly from skin. It's a boozy/spicy/soapy combo frag, and in 2020 im actually still in love with this scent even without the nostalgia taking into consideration.
