About this deal

I believe it was from Born by the Sun's Grace, which takes place in Arcadia and has one of the nations in the gazetteer. Guns and Gears brings solid steampunk and introductory industrialization to the Pathfinder setting with new technology and themes, two new classes, a new race, and countless new character options and items. Just to pick one example, your construct can go into turret mode where it is immobilized, but has a greater range on attacks and does more damage. The backgrounds come in both common and uncommon varieties, with the common ones applying your usual ability scores, skills, and lore, while the uncommon ones are a little more exotic in their effects (and generally require GM approval to use). Defined by its ability to augment a minion, armor, or a weapon, the Inventor is the class you’re going to reach to when you want to play Iron Man in Pathfinder 2E.

They also prefer to let GMs manage that for their groups because these things are delicate, and many people have very diverging opinions on how it should be implemented, and instead of pleasing 1/4 of people and hurt the rest, they know that the GMs are the best at getting the best solution for their groups.Notes on how an additional six companions can aid your adventures, extensive rules for camping and cooking strange and even magical meals to bolster your characters’ abilities, and a fully detailed system to incorporate weather and hazards like blizzards, flash floods, tornadoes, supernatural storms, and more into your campaign make the Kingmaker Companion Guide a must-have expansion for your Kingmaker Adventure Path or indeed any Pathfinder campaign! If you’re building an Inventor, you don’t have to go sifting through a bunch of guns content and vice versa. On the Guns side of the house, I liked the Revenant, a very Clint Eastwood-ian entity that was killed but decided not to stay dead because they still had scores to settle. Unravel the secrets of clockworks with the new inventor class or blow away your opposition as a firearm-wielding gunslinger!

Fun fact: The picture used as a placeholder for the cover come from the very first book released in the Lost Omen line. My longest 2e campaign was done using the green "Mighty Fortress" historical setting rules in a home brew world. It’s not QUITE as epic an undertaking… maybe because magic is everywhere while technology is still a bit more of a niche thing… but it’s still a solid book that adds a lot of new content to the Second Edition world (some of which will be familiar to First Edition ex-pats).But reading through Guns And Gears, I may be changing my tune, and not just because playing a leshy gunslinger whose nickname is “The Salad Shooter” would be Dad-Joke hilarious. When sword and spell just won't be enough to win the day, it's time to power up your game with clockwork gears, lightning coils, and black powder! Automatons will be very different, more like magitek constructs who can modify their bodies by doing things like slotting a sword into their elbow instead of their forearm and hand. But whoever they are, they’re enough of a high-roller that they had the resources to commission a clone at some point, right? The Way of the Sniper is, well, a sniper: you sacrifice speed in favor of packing as much damage as possible into each shot and also get some stealth benefits. Each companion character introduces a plethora of new character options to further enhance and bolster your characters’ abilities and options, including over a dozen feats, nearly a dozen spells, ten new alchemical and magical items, three dozen new exploration and downtime activities, and much, much more! I saw plenty of gunslinger guesses, but nobody started guessing "inventor" until we got a couple more crumbs. The First Edition Gunslinger operated on points (“grit”) that you could generate through actions and then spend on special abilities, much like the Swashbuckler operates on “panache”. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Oh, don't worry, I completely assumed and stated it like that to see if I could fish for confirmation. My only complaint about this is that the “Spider Chair” causes unfortunate flashbacks to the dreadful Wild Wild West movie, but that shouldn’t negate the principle of positive representation.
