I can just imagine taking any of my male friends/relatives to a place like this – they’d have the same facial expressions. The Malibu Barbie Cafe’s pink, two-story facade is impossible to miss inside Nickelodeon Universe, and I was greeted with a semi-enthusiastic “Hello Barbie! I wasn’t a huge kitty fan beforehand, I was more keen for the novelty, but I came out loving her a bit more (I now have a Hello Kitty cushion haha).

Bridget and I chose the Live Your Dream Grilled Cheese, while Maddie chanced it with the vegan option, the Gold Coast CALI-flower Bowl. The almighty Instagram algorithm obviously knew that I got sucked into the Barbie movie juggernaut last summer, and my initial reaction was “Yes!What we got was “The Sweet Escape,” by Gwen Stefani, playing on the stereo system and grilled cheese, delivered quickly by a quiet waitress not on roller skates, that was wholly and completely fine. Featuring three dolls, a colorful and modern design and 35+ pieces, this café-inspired set sparks endless imaginative play. Makes a great gift for kids 3 years old and up, especially those interested in medicine and caretaking!

Boys' and girls' toy vehicle: With two distinct construction possibilities, the LEGO DREAMZzz Mateo's Off-Road automobile toy lets kids let their imaginations run wild. This playset features a stand-alone examination table with lotion bottle and other accessories, an overhead mobile and two compartments for the baby doll patients. It is officially operated by Bucket Listers, an “experience” company that also offers tickets to events like “drunk yoga” and yacht cruises in cities across the country. The mirrors were decorated with the phrases “CONFIDENCE is the best accessory” and “Feel the Kenergy.

Some of the smaller items were extremely difficult to remove from the plastic and had to be cut away,therefore leaving sharp edges. On the first floor, there are enormous letters spelling BARBIE, a beach backdrop, and a lifeguard chair you can sit in.

The details are dialed in, even little things like the pink cloth napkins and the groovy wallpaper in the bathroom. Assuming you like cilantro, it’s a nice balance of flavors: The tahini sauce had a pronounced smokiness, the pickled onions added a pop of pink and tasty tangy and sweet notes, and the greens and avocado contributed a welcome freshness. When a girl plays with Barbie, she imagines everything she can become, and if you love taking care of babies, you can be a baby doctor! Some of the storytelling pieces have a clip-on feature that lets Barbie doll hold the item for realistic play! It was easy to remove from box but unfortunately I damaged the background which is pretty cool and I would have wanted to use it in my pics.
