Using WordPress and a paid-for theme, Alan W Collins was launched originally for airing it’s author’s various political opinions. However, it grew beyond a conventional blog, and is now recognised as a leading source of political news and opinion from Medway. From 2009, it also incorporated LegalLeanings.co.uk, previously a stand-alone blog commenting on legal issues and developments.
Beyond Medway, Alan W Collins is regarded highly as an independent, Conservative blog. It has been voted into the Total Politics Top 100 Conservative Blogs since 2008, most recently coming in at number 53 in 2010.
