About this deal

We launched the Baton 3 Pro Torch at the O-Fan Days event in September 2022, doesn't the name of the torch sound like an updated version of the Baton 3 ? Actually, no! Predecessors of the Baton 3 Pro have had different side switches. But compared to the Olight S2R Baton II, the side switch of Baton 3 Pro is 56% times larger. Finally there’s a strobe operated with a triple press of the power button with the torch on or off. Performance Upgraded Proximity Sensor: The optimized optical system allows the hidden proximity sensor to protect you without being oversensitive or affecting the light's beam pattern, and you can also disable the sensor temporarily or permanently. Of course, the base of the Olight Baton 3 Pro flashlight is magnetic because of the way this light charges. But that magnetic base also serves as a great connection point for the Baton 3 Pro, too.

Just like the Seeker 3 Pro it comes with a proprietary 21700 5000mAh battery installed. It would have been nice to see an upgraded version of this battery with extra capacity. The torch is pretty much exactly the same size as the Seeker 3 Pro – 133mm (5.24”) long with a 35mm (1.38in) diameter bezel. The body is a little narrower but this is quite a chunky 21700 torch. Seeker 4 Pro (left), Baton 3 Pro Max (right) I like the sealed nature of the Olight Baton 3 charging system. I’ll have to remember the cable if I take the Baton 3 on travel. Some might like the universality of a USB-C port on a flashlight or built into the battery. I’m not often a cable loser, so the Olight system is ok with me. The Olight Baton 3 Pro rechargeable flashlight has an e-switch on the head end of the side of the body. The switch cover has a bit of texture and is proud enough that it’s easy to find. It’s also not so proud or soft that it will easily activate accidentally. I measured the colour temperature of my Cool White torch in turbo mode with my colour spectrometer. It came in at a pretty cool 6673K with a very impressive, almost perfectly neutral tint of just -0.0001 Duv. At lower outputs the temperature of the LED was a little warmer but with a slightly green tint. The Baton 3 I own once lasted for 2 weeks. So, when I heard Baton 3 Pro was coming, I expected at least a month. How long do you think a full battery of Baton 3 Pro is supposed to last?I told you there were 12 operational modes, the same 6 operations modes under two different color temperatures. Knowing the industry, this price is likely to rise with the usual high demand for Olight. Recommended Place to Buy Branded flashlights are all about power; their marketing strategy’s foundation is how powerful the light is. So, how powerful do you think the Baton Pro 3 is? Olight points out how this is a 30% increase in all performance categories compared to S2R Baton II. Comfortable Small-volume Dimensions I’ve had success using a little magnet in the recessed terminal, but even then these batteries are oversized with their protection circuitry so the only charger I have that fits them is the XTAR SC1 Plus. They won’t fit in my SkyRC MC3000.

The dimensions usually increase in any tech product’s “Pro” edition. But having too much of an increment in a flashlight can affect the convenience of use. In this version of the Olight Baton 3 Pro flashlight is probably a Luminus SST-40-W emitter, just like we saw on the S2R Baton II. But Olight doesn’t say. Either way, that emitter is coupled with a TIR and provides a very pleasantbeam profile. In addition to the differences listed in the table above, the Baton 3 Pro has also upgraded a lot of design features on the S2R Baton II, now let's take a look at what other upgrade points are: The Olight Baton 3 Pro Silver Ridge rechargeable flashlight has an e-switch on the head end of the side of the body. The switch cover has a bit of texture and is proud enough that it’s easy to find. It’s also not so proud or soft that it will easily activate accidentally. I say “doesn’t necessarily” seem to shut off but it’s very warning-ey. The light steps down to such a low output that you can’t not notice. If the light is unattended, this could be a problem, but if you’re using the light, you’ll certainly notice the low voltage. Charging

It’s also not so proud or soft that it will easily activate accidentally. The Olight Baton 3 Pro is a rechargeable flashlight using a single 18650 cell (included) as well as offering high output and a familiar user interface. The Seeker 3 Pro was one of Olight’s most popular torches, and the Seeker 4 Pro improves on it with a little extra brightness, and USB-C charging – albeit with the accompanying holster. I’d still like to see USB-C integrated into the torch itself somehow. And I would have also liked to have seen a new battery with extra capacity for longer runtimes. Especially considering I wasn’t able to confirm Olight’s runtime claims, in turbo mode at least. This flashlight gives you a throw of 175m with a lumen count of 1500 at maximum candela intensity of 7900. Too many flashlights come with no battery level indicators. It’s mainly because it complicates the circuit design. But it’s this indicator that saves your battery low-voltage damage.
